Christopher DeLoffi (Alto Sax)

Chris was born and raised in Massachusetts. He holds a Masters of Music Education Degree from Holy Names University and a Bachelor of Arts Degree from San Jose State University. In addition to the saxophone he plays clarinet and flute. He has played in a variety of professional settings including performing with a number of Lawrence Welk alumni and the Manhattan Transfer. Chris is a music educator with the Stockton Unified School District.

Jim teaches Elementary Band in the Elk Grove Unified School District as well as a Homeschool band for Charter Students in the Sacramento area.  A Graduate of the Indiana University School of Music, with a Masters in Jazz Studies, California State University, Chico with a B.A. in Music Education, Jim keeps himself busy with his four part-time jobs teaching band and private Clarinet and Saxophone lessons.  He also manages the Vivace Quartet's library of over 750 charts and is in charge of  the VSQ's web site.  Jim plays Trombone and Tuba "For Fun" and is active with Amateur Radio (KB6JST)

EJ Koford admits cheerfully to being an “amateur”, which means that he does it for the love of music. Four years under the Baton of the terrifying Kern Holoman in the UC Davis Symphony convinced him that his future was not in serious classical music. The day he figured out that Capriccio Espagnol was basically a riff in A-minor, it was all over. From there he branched out to play Dixieland clarinet at the Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society, highly ornamented baroque recorder as a soloist with the Renaissance Orchestra, and blazing rock ‘n blues saxophone. In his career he’s backed up The Crystals (Goin’ to the Chapel), Pat Upton of Spiral Staircase (More Today Than Yesterday), Al Wilson (Show n’ Tell), the great (late) Bob Hope, and Don Verrett (but nobody knows who he is, yet). Locally he plays blues with The Detours and subs with Mad Dash and Essex. Mr. Koford also doubles flute and piccolo when the show requires it. He loves sax quartet music for its challenge, wide variety and widespread appeal.
